A way for corporations to push the responsibility for dealing with structural and societal issues onto individuals and make it their responsibility to solve
Honestly? I kind of like this definition. I don't feel it's that far off the mark, if at all.
I am much like you in that I greatly limit my consumption of simple carbs like bread, potatoes and rice. I have a chronic illness (Hashimoto's thyroiditis) with symptoms that are aggravated by simple carbs. I also don't eat seconds, usually don't eat dessert, and stop eating when I feel full.
I like the idea of writing your food down. Do you write down calorie counts, too? I usually keep a running tally in my head as I try to stick to 1500 a day (I'm tall--I know most folks can cut to 1200 but cutting to 1200 was a recipe for me being hungry all day), which helped me lose 20 lbs.
I think almost anyone could slide into disordered eating if their lives became stressful enough, or if they suddenly had issues getting enough food (not enough money, or if they had dietary restrictions and not enough money or food assistance etc).
