The great thing about the World of Darkness is that you can do that, since it's just our world (well, with vampires and werewolves and ghosts and stuff).

That's something else that bothers me about V5. If there's anti-vampire scanners at major airports and secret vampire heads of state, it's a bit harder to run it as "the same as our world, so I'll use modern politics and also set it in the city where we all live," which is why I did for my VtM game in college.
