Crusade time!

Sarah Palin on the Iraq war:

"Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."

Sauce.

Also, God wants us to build more oil pipelines in Alaska. Who knew?

I wanted to at least feel like I could respect Palin, but after watching her speech last night... thanks, but no thanks. I guess she's an adequate scripted speaker, though I have yet to really see her speak off-the-cuff. Last night's prepared remarks just felt bitter and condescending to me. Sure, Biden wasn't all roses for McCain in his speech, but there was at least a measure of respect for the opposition that seemed to be entirely absent from basically every speech I've heard from the RNC so far. I am SO looking forward to the VP debate next month. I hope that Biden eats Palin alive.

Will you and Rachel be able to vote absentee for the November elections? How does that work when you're living abroad?

If Obama was like, "A pipeline in Alaska? That's not what God told me last night!" would there be a religion fight? Is it politically viable to argue that no, God is on my side, not theirs? Who would know? Both sides have preachers that would back them up, though admittedly the right has a bigger audience for that sort of thing.

As long as no one's talking about the issues anyway, can't they at least make wild claims of religious certitude?

Expect more to come up about her religion as time goes on, the Assembly of God isn't too main stream of a sect.

Oh, and: this is an extremely biased article, but if even a quarter of what it alleges is true...
