dorchadas: (In America)
[personal profile] dorchadas
[instagram.com profile] sashagee had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and after she arrived at the officer, she went to check in. Once there, they told her that it was a new month and her health insurance name had changed, and since she needed authorization for every single procedure or her insurance wouldn't pay for it, and since her insurance had authorized the procedure previously but now she had new insurance (or a new name? I was listening from across the room and it wasn't clear), they couldn't do anything. They brought over the insurance specialist and she said there was nothing [instagram.com profile] sashagee could do--the doctor's office just had to call insurance and get everything sorted out. So she left.

Not long after she got home, she got a call saying that things had been worked out a bit, but she still has to go in again and that's stress she doesn't need. This is the American health system at work! Defective by design.
