I've been feeling pretty out of sorts for the last couple of days.

I threw away almost all of my childhood mementos in the move. Pictures, school report cards, awards, everything.

I try to tell myself that's the reason. I mostly succeed.

ever since i moved to/from dc and then moved out of the house i've been throwing things out. some things are meaninful like your childhood things (report cards, pictures, etc). some things are just items that i felt guilty leaving behind (my really nice chair that was a birthday gift that i left in DC. and over all its pretty disconcerting.

i think big life changes are supposed to be unsettling, even if the throwing away part is only the tip of the ice berg.
