Apparently throat-punching is legal in sumo. Who knew?

Hmm.. sounds weird at first, but makes sense. Sumo strikes are almost all open-handed pushing, drawing blood results in a do-over, and you don't get many throat shots at the angle involved anyway.

the part that really surprised me is that I later saw two guys practicing. One had a towel around his throat and the other guy was smacking him.
