🌨 Snow Day! 🌨
2018-Feb-09, Friday 10:14That user icon is more literal now rather than just a century-old reference!
There's a storm coming through the Midwest and the main body of it just happened to hit Chicago at exactly the right point. Yesterday afternoon at about 2 p.m., Chicago Public Schools closed in anticipation of the storm. At 5 p.m.,
schoolpsychnerd got the news that her school was also going to be closed and she had a snow day, but despite the talk around work about how we obviously wouldn't remain open if CPS was closed, I went home with no news. And finally, at 10:30 as I was lying in bed, I got a text message from my boss saying that the AMA was closing and we'd have a snow day.
It's not snowing particularly hard, but it's been snowing for about 15 hours now. There's maybe 10 cm of snow on all the parked cars I can see out the window and the roads aren't clear and it's supposed to snow for the entire rest of the day. Weather reports said that the evening commute would be worse than the morning one, so I'm glad that neither of us have to commute other than to the restaurant we're going on a dinner date to, and that's within walking distance.
schoolpsychnerd is currently taking a relaxing bath and I'm jumping through hoops related to my Legend of Zelda project after we both ate some bagels she made from scratch. We're listening to podcasts, warm, and indoors. 幸せ~
