Internet fixed?

So when I moved in, my old modem didn't work, so I rented a modem. Then the internet went out, I called for a tech, and he came out and checked things. It started working after being down before he arrived, and he checked things and didn't find anything. Then it failed again on Saturday, ruining my plans to watch Domestic Kanojo with goodbyeomelas and meowtima, so I called tech support and got another appointment for Labor Day. When I woke up on Sunday it was working again, but it went out around 2 p.m. and stayed out until the tech came out the next day. I called again and worked through things with the phone, and he seemed very surprised--he said the people who lived there previously had one call in four years and no real problems, so he wasn't sure what could be wrong. He couldn't fix it, so I waited for the technician.

When he showed up, he spent an hour replacing the entire line running from my home to to the box, including climbing up on the roof. When he left it worked, and it worked again this morning. Hopefully it'll work again tonight when I go to sleep and keep working consistently from now on! The other units in the building all work fine, so it's probably not further upstream than that.

I'm hopeful! We'll see.
