Date: 2019-Oct-07, Monday 02:15 (UTC)Perhaps a bit of product to smooth the hair before you braided it might yield a less messy braid? My hair is a much different texture than yours, but if I want it to look smooth(ish) I usually need to use a pomade.

My hair's wavy enough that it's always a bit rebellious (even in that braid it's still trying to escape) and I've partially used not styling it at all as an excuse to not deal with that. But if I do want to do anything other than let it hang loose, I'm going to have to find some way to tame it a bit.
I should ask next time I go in for a trim.
