Life goal achieved: bishōnen hair

It's been a long-time goal of mine to have hair long enough that I can put it back in a messy low ponytail, inspired (honestly) by Hotohori from Fushigi Yūgi. And just recently, thanks to a donation of all of
thosesocks's old hair ties and the length of my hair, I can finally do it:

I can finally do something with my hair other than just having it hang loose. Took me long enough to figure it out.

Date: 2019-Oct-06, Sunday 21:48 (UTC)I can braid my hair, but it's not in any way neat. It's a scraggly mess, with stray hairs everywhere, and I've only ever done it as a temporary measure to get it out of the way, because for years I didn't own anything to restrain my hair other than the clips I used to put it up for the shower.
My hair looks pretty great when other people braid it, though. Here's it braided for a LARP I was briefly in:

My hair's wavy enough that it's always a bit rebellious (even in that braid it's still trying to escape) and I've partially used not styling it at all as an excuse to not deal with that. But if I do want to do anything other than let it hang loose, I'm going to have to find some way to tame it a bit.
I should ask next time I go in for a trim.

Also, your hair is really pretty :) And nice song choice for this journal XD

(I do think long hair looks much better, and it's more versatile. There's so much more you can do with it...even if I usually don't do anything

Date: 2019-Oct-07, Monday 15:28 (UTC)that's so cool! sometimes I wish my hair looked good somewhat long but I got Thicc Curl Hair and when it's dry, it makes my head look triangular. 'cause it just sticks out. I started cutting it short a bit after I came out to my mom as nb, and I love how easy it is to handle... but lately I've been thinkin' 'bout longer hair. I know I won't actually do it, though.

Date: 2019-Oct-07, Monday 16:26 (UTC)If my hair is neck-length, it does this awful outward curl and looks like whatever that popular 60s women's hairstyle is called (Google tells me "flipped bob"). I had to suffer through that to get to the point where my hair had enough of its own weight to hang down, but it's been long for twenty years now, so it's easy for me to be cavalier about it.
