The parallelism is striking
2020-Apr-08, Wednesday 10:46As I put it on Facebook earlier:
I get that Passover is about a country under the control of a corrupt and tyrannical ruler who ignores the advice of experts even as the lands are stricken with plague, while the Children of Israel survive due to hiding in their homes. We're supposed to act as though we ourselves were brought out of Egypt, and you know, I think that'll be easier to imagine this year.
But like, come on, G-d.

Date: 2020-Apr-09, Thursday 21:33 (UTC)I had heard some people earlier suggesting we add another month of Adar (the leap month that occurs in leap years in the Hebrew calendar, and which comes before Nisan, the month of Passover), but it runs into a few problems, the most pressing of which is the lack of Sanhedrin and thus any religious authority to make such a proclamation.
