2021 in Gaming

Here are all the games I beat in 2021, in chronological order:
That list hides a big chunk of what I've been playing just because it doesn't fit into the review structure, though. My Metroid series replay stalled out at Super Metroid because to be honest, I just wasn't having any fun--Super Metroid seems like a great downgrade after AM2R--but I'll get back to it. I also played a lot of Stellaris, the 4x in space that's hugely imbalanced but fun to roleplay in, Crusader Kings II, the Binding of Isaac, and played a bit of Caves of Qud. These are games that don't lend themselves to my review style though because they're hard to "beat," though maybe someday I will. I've also started up Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster so that'll definitely be my next review.
I played Genshin Impact too, which I forgot about even though I played a few dozen hours in the first half of the year, because I haven't played it since June.
The goal this year is to finish more games. Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster, Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster, maybe Triangle Strategy, Breath of the Wild 2 if it comes out, Hollow Knight, maybe a few more. It's also the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII, so maybe I'll finally play it!
- Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood
- Final Fantasy VIII
- Metroid: Zero Mission (replay: old review)
- Another Metroid 2 Remake (replay: old review)
- Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers

Date: 2022-Feb-04, Friday 20:55 (UTC)The secret is that Laila has a consistent sleep schedule--she goes to bed at 18:30 and wakes up at 7:00 every single day. That leaves plenty of time in the evening. She also takes two two-hour naps each day, which leaves more time on weekends.
(Before that, I'd often play when Laila was asleep on my lap!
Once Oleg is sleeping more consistently, you'll hopefully have more time too!
