Purim 5783

I wrote a much longer post for Purim 5782 (including fun Purim trivia), but this year is going to be much shorter because the trivia remains true and the actual Megillah reading was exactly the same as last year. Including the commentary on the side, which in previous years was different. The Megillah is the same as it's always been so there's not exactly that much innovation I should expect, but it was still surprising.
The spiel was funny, though. My favorite part was the rabbinical Hot Ones, with kosher vegan chicken bites, asking each rabbi seven questions of which six were the same, that began with the following exchange:
aaronhparker and watched and drank my drinks--three this time after I found an extra ticket on the counter, my tradition of getting extra drinks continues--and then left when the spiel was done to get back to my family. The Executive Director was giving out hamantaschen on the way out so I took a couple for myself and a couple for
sashagee and Laila and got on the bus to go home.

The spiel was funny, though. My favorite part was the rabbinical Hot Ones, with kosher vegan chicken bites, asking each rabbi seven questions of which six were the same, that began with the following exchange:
Interviewer Zach Weinberg: "The Book of Esther is the only book of the Bible in which G-d is not mentioned. Do you think G-d is mad about that?"Also of note were the questions asking them to use their years of formal Conservative Judaism rabbinical schooling to name all of Haman's ten sons (no one got it right and Rabbi Steven outright refused to try). There was also this:
Rabbi Steven: "I don't think G-d has feelings. I don't know, does G-d have feelings?"
[cut]
Rabbi Deena: "Yes."
Rabbi Lizzi: "No."
Interviewer Zach Weinberg: "[Da Bomb hot sauce] tastes terrible."I sat next to
Rabbi Lizzi: "Yeah, why would anyone eat this?"
Interviewer Zach Weinberg: "This one I think they actually don't."
Rabbi Lizzi: "Why would they make it?"
Interviewer Zach Weinberg: "To hurt you."
