It is extremely hot in Chicago. There's no wind and blazing sun and the weather app tells me that the effective temperature is 41°C and it's supposed to get even hotter before all's said and done. I'm still inside but it looks like the hottest temperature is going to be right when I have to leave and go home, and sashagee has tasked me with going to the grocery store and pick up an order of groceries and then haul them all the way home.

At least I'll have peach cake waiting for me.

Sorry you had to be out in it, we had errands, but it was at 7 am (ugh). It was still hot, but i was able to park underground and wait while my friend had surgery. I had to go out later and kept waiting for the storms that was supposed to cool us off, but never came, IDK what the "feel like" temp was but I know we definitely hit the 90s and it was humid as heck.

Yeah, it was still like 80°F at 7 a.m. and I can't imagine it was that much different by you (you're not that far north IIRC).

You never got the storm? We had such a massive one that we had flood warnings! Started like fifteen minutes after I got back from the store, too.

I feel for you being out in the heat, 41°C really is far too hot. Still, I hope the peach cake made you feel better :)
